Yet another new wrinkle is introduced this month with the accession of 10 additional countries to the European Union. While the addition of these countries promises to offer intriguing new dimensions to Europe’s economic picture and social dynamics, it also complicates hiring issues for UK employers, and adds to their challenges as a sort of deputised immigration officer.Ten countries are entering the EU. But the citizens of eight of these countries will be treated one way while those of the other two will be treated another way.We focus on European issues this month in a special package of stories that will hopefully enlighten you and help you to better understand your responsibilities and your recruitment opportunities under EU expansion. As part of our European focus, we also consider the European Court of Justice and outline some of the previous decisions that heavily impact UK employment.Because of the importance of our European focus, two of our regular offerings – Case round up and From the reference manual – are taking a brief respite this month, but will return in June.With this issue, we also step up our focus on UK industries and employment law issues pertinent to individual sectors. This month we spotlight the construction industry. According to South China Morning Post, EUR 9.6 mln was spent to refit the ship.Since 2004 the ship was a part of military-oriented theme park in Tianjin; there were models of combat aircraft on the ship’s deck. “Previously, China had no aircraft carriers, and people find them mysterious and curious objects. Although the first Chinese carrier has started sea trials, public will be unlikely allowed to board it. So, people can visit Kiev to satisfy their curiosity”, says marketing manager Liu Chang.Designers shifted from standard navy-style decorations towards more luxury materials. Each suit is furnished with a huge circle bed, silver curtains, and a carpet on the floor. The interior design means that the visitors would be wealthy people. Authorities View post tag: News by topic View post tag: gets View post tag: New When the gas turbine engine that powers one of the generators aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109) failed, a fly-away team from Mayport, Florida, was dispatched from the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) with engine in-hand.The ship was deployed in the Caribbean when two of its three generators experienced some issues and pulled into port at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.Chief Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical)(SW) Maurice Waller said:Their number two generator had problems with an electrical breaker, and number three had a bearing failure on the gas turbine engine that powers the generator, which is the engine we replaced.The team left Sunday, Feb. 8 via C-130 aircraft from Naval Air Station Jacksonville loaded with a new engine, connex box with tools and rigging gear, and a special van that would transport everything to the ship.
